I run an LS swapped 944 track car revving to 7k rpm and putting down about 400 hp to the wheels. Having invested a lot of time and money into my engine, I wanted protection at higher temperatures. Driven did the job. I'm only burning about 1 quart per weekend of track time, and the engine seems real happy. Oil changes showed no bearing wear, even with oil temps up around 280-290. When it comes to performance cars, don't cheap out on your oil. It's just not worth it.
